Moms and mother-figures deserve appreciation every single day, but in these current times, even more has been added to our plates. For Mother’s Day this year, we’re sharing how you can create a lowkey brunch at home to show your love and gratitude.
A brunch at home doesn’t need to be overly-complicated. You just need a few extra touches to make it feel special!
The Menu
Pancakes-either your favorite recipe or you can pick-up a great mix like the one we used from Jon & Vinny’s or a homemade recipe, like Ally’s husband, Steven lovingly adapted from Martha Stewart.
-Frittata- we love this one from Giada, but you can also create your own using produce you have in the fridge!
-Fresh Berries
-Mimosa Bar: bubbles from Helen’s Wines and a mix of her favorite juices or mix it up and try some of the seasonal options from Pressed Juicery–we love the blood orange kumquat!
You can also support a local business and take advantage of one of the many Mother’s Day Brunch menus being offered around Los Angeles
The Look
Every Friday our home-school desk transforms back to our dining table for the weekend with a few upgrades:
-table runner or linen in her favorite color
-linen napkins or pretty paper (bonus points prolonging the next load of laundry)
-chargers or pretty dinner plates
-flatware & glassware–-anything that’s not your “everyday”
-And for the tunes, here is one of our go-to playlists for any Sunday Brunch from Bob Gail Music:
Gift Ideas
We know firsthand that what caregivers really want right now is a much needed break from cooking and cleaning, but here are some other ideas to make mom feel the love:
Cozy Knits including a limited edition “mom tee” from The Great.
Cedar Apothecary Set from Jenni Kayne
Beautiful Bouquet of Garden Roses from Grace Rose Farm
A Bloom Box set from Lilla Bello
At-Home Mani Set from Olive & June
A Curated Gift Box from SE Expressions
Tumbler that transitions from morning caffeine to cocktail hour from Paper-Source
