In the midst of the situation we are all in together, life’s milestones still continue. Instead of letting them pass us by, we’re choosing to embrace them in a new way, and celebrate them together at home. We recently celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on May 4th, and while it looked a little bit different (don’t let the two setups fool you: there was a booster seat, a high chair and sippy cups at our table, it was just as memorable as a special date night at home.
We chose to keep the tabletop simple, with one of our favorite indigo runners from Found Rentals that we had made when we first moved in, and one of our favorite sets of candlesticks that Holly Flora handmade for us years ago.
What we really wanted for our anniversary was to not cook or do dishes, and to enjoy a meal from one of our favorite restaurants, Jon & Vinny’s.
We ordered a selection of our favorite dishes: the Roasted Beet “Greek” Salad, the Shaved Zucchini Salad, the Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe, the Spaghetti Limone, Spicy Fusilli, and the Marinara Braised Meatballs with their delicious Garlic Bread.
For dessert, we ordered two of our favorite ice cream flavors from Antico: cookies & cream and honeycomb.
We shared a bottle of one of our favorite wines from Caymus Vineyard that we picked up on a trip to Napa last summer and after we put the kids to bed, we watched Star Wars: the Rise of Skywalker on our couch.
Cheers to finding ways to connect, and this life we’ve built together.
Enjoy and let us know how it goes! Feel free to tag us on Instagram with #celebrateathomeBGE to share. We’d love to see how you’re celebrating!
